If you are really interested go ahead and check out
tentative dates of elections through 2013!!!!! These dates are subject to change by the State Legislature.
And if you need help figuring any of this out, for any upcoming election here are some step-by-step instructions to help you out.
You can get all your important voter information via our website!
Look for our Facebook page and any events we're promoting right before any election.
And look us up on Twitter @EngageNOLA along with the Sec of State Twitter using the hashtag #GeauxVote
First: Where to vote (click this link)?? https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/ 1. Enter your name or your address into the search
2. Click on "Voting Information" at the top of the page
3. Click on "Polling Place Detail" on the left
4. Your location should be a short walk from your home
Second: For whom do I vote? https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/ballot/default.aspx 1. After having already entered your address or name click "Ballot Information" 2. On the left, click on the link to "Ballot Details" 3. Make sure the date at the top has the right date for the election you want "XX/YY/ZZZZ" 4. We also recommend displaying the "Full Text" for the amendments 5. Now you will see all the races you can vote on from your precinct - EASY PEASY! 6. Be sure to check out any NOLA Home Rule Charter changes or state constitutional amendments
(both of those can be tricky to understand and know how you want to vote)
Any other questions, hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, or the @Louisiana_sos
We'll see you at the polls, now #GeauxVOTE!
Now, if you need some help deciding who to vote for, or just want
someone to tell you how to vote (and we're certainly not going to help
you with the latter), here are a few links to popular local sources that provide those kinds of recommendations and analysis. And if anyone has
other non-partisan sources to include, shoot us a message and we'll add
it to the list.
