
James A. Lancaster
James
earned a civil engineering degree from Tulane University in 2003. After
doing contract hurricane recovery work with FEMA in Florida, he
returned to New Orleans and focused on hurricane recovery in
transportation reconstruction and flood control efforts. He founded the
SoundWave Alumni and Booster Organization to revive and support the band
program at Tulane. He currently volunteers as a board member of Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans, and previously as a board member of Bike Easy. He is
also a project leader for the Young Leadership Council project, Where Ya’ Rack?, which aims to encourage more bicycle use in the city through bike rack sponsorships.
James was a steering committee members for EngageNOLA from 2009 to 2010, a board member and Director of Development for 2011, and is currently serving as a board member and the Director of Projects for 2012.
