
Fred Neal Jr. is a professional planner with experience in
comprehensive planning, neighborhood planning, land use planning, land demand
analyses, economic development, non-profit development, and grant
writing.
Mr. Neal has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Louisiana
State University and he will receive a Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning
with a concentration in Housing and Community Development from the University
of New Orleans in the spring of 2011. Mr. Neal is a member of the American Planning
Association (APA), the Planning and the Black Community Division of APA,
Louisiana APA, and the New Orleans Metro Chapter of the APA.
Additionally, Mr. Neal is Co-Chair of the EngageNOLA
Executive Committee, a founding member of NOLAYURP, a volunteer reader at WRBH
88.3 FM Radio for the Blind and Print Handicapped, and a member of the
AmericaSpeaks national volunteer facilitator network. Also, Mr. Neal has
participated in several local programs dealing with community development and
economic development including the Destination Broadmoor “Third Place”
Initiative and the Young Ambassadors of New Orleans program.
