|  EngageNOLA's successful series of intimate and informal gatherings with
leaders and candidates now moves into its next phase, featuring our
community's most influential public officials. As with the 'Meet the Candidate' events, the 'Meet the Public Official' events includes a social hour
and then a presentation by the featured speaker, followed by an open
question and answer session. Prior to the event, EngageNOLA will provide
background information regarding the guest speaker and relevant histories,
and will also solicit questions from the general public. 
The EngageNOLA 'Meet the Public Official' series aims, above all, to inform,
to educate, and to provide a forum for conversation regarding current
events and the roles and responsibilities of our elected and appointed
public officials. EngageNOLA hopes to hold forums in a variety of
venues and locations and to engage community members in an active and
vigorous civic exercise, always centered on encouraging others to learn about and participate in public and community affairs.
We
look to incorporate partner organizations in the planning and execution
of these, and other events, in order to broaden appeal and encourage diverse participation across the political, cultural, generational and geographic spectrum.
